This is the sign you’re looking for; the Princess 85 (2011) is available now
An amazing 80-footer from a renowned yard is on sale now in the preowned market
This is indeed a rare opportunity for APAC boaters, as she is currently residing in Langkawi, Malaysia. Princess is a name that needs no introduction in the world of luxury yachts. The British yard was founded in Plymouth in 1965, and today is one of the titans of boating, not just in Britain, but throughout the world. The Princess 85 was first launched in 2008, and is a proud addition to the history of the marque. Here’s what you need to know about this particular Princess Yachts 85, the Amelia, that is available for purchase in the preowned market right now.

Those familiar with Princess’ nomenclature will see the lack of any letter attached to the name of the 85. Out of a total of 7 classes, their most famous are likely the M, X, and Y classes. The classes denote the sizes of their yachts, as well as some distinguishing figures, so Amelia would be fall into the Y class at 85 feet. The Y classification was introduced in 2017, so she was not named thusly.
Amelia is beautifully appointed inside, and as you can see, she has a poised and elegant bearing for a yacht of 10 years. The main area of congregation is always going to be in the cockpit, and so this area is generously spacious with dining and a bar. Besides that, the salon has a large lounge as well as a separate dining area. The kitchen and main helm are separated forward to benefit both crew and guests, and there is another foredeck lounging area to experience the sun.
One of Amelia’s highlights is unquestionably her flying bridge. Guests can dine here, or just lounge as well on her sunbed and cushions. Aside from the second station controls, there is a wetbar, sink, and two barbeque pits up here, too. This area is accessible via an internal and external staircase. The stairways are all finished with teak, as are the transom platform, cockpit deck, stairs to the sidedecks, side decks, and the flybridge.
A concern on boats, especially in larger yachts, is centred on movement. Just like how the main helm and kitchen are laid out to separate the guests from the crew, so too are the crew quarters, for obvious practical reasons. Two fully fitted crew cabins can be accessed from the main deck bulwarks, and also from the swim platform. This area also includes a separate diner and bathroom.
Amelia is currently berthed in Langkawi, Malaysia. Please get in touch with us to register your interest and find out more about this rare opportunity.
