3 yachts, 3 sizes, 3 prices
Here’s another triplet of great yachts for your consideration
At the end of every month, this article is where we try to showcase 3 preowned yachts of differing sizes and prices. These yachts are chosen mainly for their LOA, which is a sweet spot in utility and price for owners in our region. Some yachts, like the Cranchi Atlantique 43, have already been presented in an article and so we will leave them out. And sometimes, a highly interesting yacht may show up on our radar and we feature it anyway. After all, we know you’ll want to read about something remarkable.
Jeanneau Prestige 400 | USD250,000
At a length of specifically 39’10”, the Prestige 400 may seem like a small cruiser, but her talents are many. A flybridge, as always, gives her a whole other dimension of experience when compared to other yachts of this size. Under the main deck are two cabins – the master features a round berth, while the other has twin singles, making her perfect as a family of four’s weekend getaway.
She can get to 31 knots when pushed, as both her Cummin engines make 375 hp each. However, when her guests are unhurried, a large sundeck fore of the vessel makes a perfect place to catch a tan and watch the world go by. She’s currently residing in Penang.
Numbers attached to the name of a boat usually denotes their LOA, and so too it is for the Leopard 51PC. She is 51’ in length, and the ‘PC’ in the name means ‘Power Cat’, which is to say she is fully powered by motors, unlike some of the other catamarans by the Cape Town boatyard.
Some boaters may thumb their noses at a powered multihull – and their reasons are valid. Sure, they aren’t fast or exciting in the way of sports cruisers. However, not all occasions call for a Ferrari; some occasions call for a Rolls Royce instead, and multihulls can give you that experience in a compact package.
The Leopard 51PC is amazingly stable due to her hulls. She has 3 cabins with ample room neatly tucked away, and has the fuel efficiency to travel from Hong Kong to Manila and back, without stopping (according to Luxuo). This particular cat is berthed in Penang.
A shipyard that is synonymous with luxury and superlative build, the Princess S60 is a sportbridge cruiser par excellence. You may have noticed that other crafts of this size usually have a full flybridge, but she ‘only’ has a sportbridge. This is because Princess decided to open the salon below to the elements too via a sunroof forward of the bridge. This added feature sets it apart from its competitors.
Two sunpads give plenty of places to lay out. The one fore of the vessel features seating, while the one aft also receives ample sunshine as the sportbridge overhang does not impede any. She features 3 staterooms too. A full-beam master sits amidships, while the forepeak stateroom is lit naturally from generous hull-side windows. The final starboard guest stateroom features twin beds that can slide together for couples.
No detail in this yacht is overlooked, from her exemplary interior wood work, to her piloting experience. She is currently berthed in Langkawi.
Preowned yachts are often great value for the price owners pay. However, this is only true when the boats are in good condition. To truly know the boat, brokers are necessary and we at Pen Marine take pride in our experience and connections. The former gives us the knowledge that only years of service can provide, while the latter gives us access to experts who may have taken care of these yachts. You can even check out the rest of our preowned yachts here.
