Here’s what you need to know about the yard’s latest line of adventurous dayboats

The popularity of dayboats have exploded in the past few years, and Jeanneau has decided to put their own hat in the race with this newly resurrected DB line, which hasn’t been seen since the 80s. Entering as the first boat of the line is the DB/43, a vessel that exudes power, elegance, and harmony in its design and functionalities.

Designed to stand out

Camillo Garroni, the designer of the Jeanneau DB/43, drew inspiration from the automotive world, specifically ‘the soft curves and extended lines of sporty British and Italian models’. This is evident in the power and elegance of the boat, with clearly-defined side profiles that emphasises its sculpted edges and concave forms.

As viewers can tell, the luxurious dayboat has a plumb bow and a generous freeboard, which creates an interior with higher volume. Just like any Jeanneau vessel, design and style must go hand in hand with liveability.

A highly versatile cockpit

Part of what makes the Jeanneau DB/43 so attractive to the eye is the aft cockpit, which brings to mind classic roadsters with a lengthy hood. What’s more, the full beam cockpit is made even more spacious when the swim platform and side terraces (aka transom and gunwalls) are let down, increasing further the space here for the enjoyment of boaters.

This beach club is further augmented by a fully equipped exterior galley, designed as a central island for the freedom of the chef, as well as for boaters to socialise while prepping and enjoying food. Finally, forwards is a sundeck with a modular layout.

Altogether, 12 people can be accommodated on the Jeanneau DB/43 comfortably.

Not just a ‘day’boat

Glide down below decks and boaters will find a smaller galley, a forward head with a shower, and two cabins. The owner’s suite is located in the bow and features a double berth, and the other is aft with enough sleeping space for three. Should owners disfavour the galley below deck, it can be replaced with a second head.

Excellent seaworthiness

In true Jeanneau fashion, the hull of the DB/43 is designed by Michael Peters Yacht Design, and Jeanneau boats designed by them have often been praised for their poise and delightful handling.

Two versions of the Jeanneau DB/43 are available. The inboard version has twin Volvo D6-380 engines with joystick control as standard, while the outboard version comes with three 350 hp engines that will satisfy even the most enthusiastic of speedsters.
