Don’t miss these exciting new yachts from Ferretti, Pershing, Jeanneau, Leopard, and...
2022 is certainly going to be an exciting year for boaters
The brands that Pen Marine represent are constantly innovating and building new vessels to meet the needs of boaters who want only the best in their vessels. These shipyards have all launched new vessels or have announced exciting new yachts coming up sometime in the year, and these boats all bring something new to sea. Let’s take a closer look.
Ferretti Yachts 580 Project
Ferretti Yachts’s latest upcoming yacht is the 580 Project which will sit above the FY500 and FY550 with an LOA of 58’ (17.68m). Two engine options have been proposed, and they are a pair of Volvo Pentas with either 1000hp or 900hp. Just like the most recent builds from the yard, the interior can be specified in two palettes: Classic, which brings earthy, natural colours, or Contemporary, which gives cool, modern hues.
Early renders show that the exterior architecture of the vessel is ever so slightly more angular than the other yachts in the current lineup, which will look fantastically modern and vibrant to admiring viewers. The Ferretti Yachts 580 Project is slated to be launched in October this year, and will be unveiled at the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show.
Pershing GTX116
In recent years, Pershing has been focused on Generation X, a lineup of boats that are powerful, fast, and sleekly designed. Thus, big waves were made when the yard announced the upcoming Pershing GTX116, which was not only a new yacht, but an entirely new generation of yachts that is quite unlike any in Generation X.
The new GTX116 has an LOA of 115’7” (35.24m), and a beam of 25’4” (7.72m). Even though she’s an all-new yacht from the shipyard, admirers will instantly see the family resemblance – all Pershings just look fast, even while stationary. Standard engines are MAN V12s with 1800hp, with the option to upgrade to 2000hp.
Jeanneau DB/43
One of the leaders in the world of pleasure boating, Jeanneau has also launched a brand new line of boats, with the first of them being a DB/43. The nomenclature is easy to understand too – DB stands for Day Boat, and 43 is her length in feet.
Compared to the rest of Jeanneau’s current motorboat range, the DB/43 looks even more dynamic. This is because she is designed by Italian designer Garroni Design, and to match her looks she has been given Jeanneau’s superb V-hull by Michael Peters. The DB/43 is available with inboard or outboard configurations – the former has twin D6 engines with 380hp each, and the latter features triple engines with 350hp each.
Leopard Catamarans 46 PC
Bluewater-boat-builders Leopard Catamarans launched their latest powered multihull early this year, and already the Leopard 46 Powercat has been widely lauded, and awarded as well. She is the second boat in this new generation of powercats from the South African yard, and is just like her big sister: luxuriously spacious and superbly well-mannered at sea.
She is designed to look more like a powerboat than a multihull, with unfussy lines that give her an overall polished appeal. Moreover, her interior has been further refined as well. For example, indirect lighting is now more widely used, with consistent temperature throughout the large vessel, and all bunks in the large cabins are accessible from the side. These are just some of the many improvements, and may seem small, but they truly elevate her boating experience.
Grand Banks 85
She’s the largest yacht the shipyard has ever made, and thanks to Grand Banks’s proprietary V-Warp hull design, the new Grand Banks 85 has best-in-class fuel efficiency and range when compared to other 85-footers. This makes her an exceptionally capable long-distance cruiser, so owners can enjoy the journey more, and worry about range less.
In true Grand Banks fashion, she has a design that is more classic than contemporary, giving her a timeless appeal. Her interior reflects this as well, with rich, lustrous wood used generously. What’s more, there are many configurations available, with three different flybridge layouts and options for 3 or 4 cabins.
