Understanding every single luxurious vessel from Ferretti Yachts
A basic guide to all 8 yachts made by the Italian shipyard today
Ferretti Yachts is a one of the most renowned shipyards in the world of pleasure motoryachts today. The yard first came to life in Italy in 1968, and today is one of the brands under the Ferretti Group, with sister brands that are of equal renown, namely, Custom Line, Pershing, Itama, Riva, Mochi, and CRN. Even amongst these, Ferretti Yachts stands out in terms of design philosophy and a passion for the sea. Here are all the 8 yachts currently in their fleet, and this list will be updated as their lineup evolves.
Ferretti Yachts 1000
Before the existence of Ferretti Yachts’s newest flagship, devotees of the Italian shipyard had to look to Custom Line if they wanted a yacht of 30 metres (about 100’). With the new Ferretti Yachts 1000, boaters who resonate with the design and philosophy of Ferretti Yachts now have a choice. The flagship has an LOA of 30.13 metres, but what the yard has managed to fit into the hull is more commonly found on larger yachts.
Her superstructure skeleton is steel framed, allowing for larger windows with smaller mullions without hampering stiffness, and the rest is made from fiberglass for weight control. She is made to plane, after all, and cruising speed is quoted to be 24 knots, propelled by the most powerful engine option, MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines.
From the first pencil stroke, she was designed to feel like home. Interior architecture and décor is inspired by Italian design from the 50s and 60s, with two themes that are subtly different from one another. They are ‘Classic’ and ‘Contemporary’, but of course, these offer the frame in which owners can customise further to their own discretion.

Ferretti Yachts 920
The Ferretti Yachts 920 was launched almost 5 years ago. Unlike the new FY1000, the 920 is designed to have a more classic profile, without the curvy bows seen in many competitors, and just like all of Ferretti Yachts’s vessels, utility and superlative design must come together.
The perfect example is the flying bridge, which extends almost half the length of the boat while looking beautifully proportional, and it also features a carbon fibre hardtop for sun protection. At stern of the 28.49 metre vessel is an innovative ‘submersible hatch’ with a door that opens up and back while the swim platform drops down, to ease access of tenders.
The latest crafts from Ferretti Yachts feature the choice of two themes stated above, but not on the FY920, though the vessel is none the worse without it. The interior is a harmonious mix of gentle colours and materials that evoke a sense of comfort and ease.

Ferretti Yachts 860
This is one of the newest yachts from the yard, replacing the outgoing FY850, and you can really see the progress in the design language of the Ferretti Yachts 860. Just look at the way the bulwarks have been ‘filleted’ (Ferretti’s words) to give the full height saloon windows an even more prominent appearance.
This gives the 26.95 metre yacht an extraordinary side profile, unique even amongst her other siblings. Similar to the larger FY920, she also has the innovative tender access, and just like every other yacht from the yard, she also features a flying bridge.
Inside, the FY860 also features the option of the two themes, Classic or Contemporary. The main saloon is designed to be open, and is visually separated from the dining area by a raised pilothouse. Going down a level, boaters will find a total of four staterooms.

Ferretti Yachts 780
As we go down the list, the yachts are getting incrementally smaller, but they still feature the highest level of craftsmanship and design from the yard. The Ferretti Yachts 780 that sits in the middle of the range at 24.01 metres, is equal parts stylish and practical. Her debut was also a few years ago, but her design hasn’t aged a day.
Visually, the exterior of the yacht is dominated by acres of glass, seemingly wrapping around the entire main deck of the yacht. From inside the saloon, the abundance of glass creates all around vistas for the enjoyment of everyone.
She has a range of engine options, and the most powerful one will hold a steady cruising speed of 27-knots, while a standard Seakeeper gyrostabiliser keeps occupants comfortable even in the roughest seas.
Specifications
LOA : 24.01 m / 78′ 9″
Beam : 5.8 m / 19′ 0″
Laden displacement : 65,000 kg

Ferretti Yachts 720
Here’s another new yacht from the yard. The Ferretti Yachts 720 was first introduced in 2020, and once again, the evolution in the design is both obvious and subtle. This is no mean feat; to pay homage to heritage and innovate for the future is a difficult task, but the designers of the FY720 has done so splendidly.
Just like her siblings, she has a flybridge, but to keep the centre of gravity low, the lay-up here is made with carbon fibre and the fiberglass lamination is resin-infused as well. We recommend the optional hardtop for any tropical county, and three configurations can be chosen: fixed-glass with sunroof panels, built-in bimini section, or slats.
Like the other newer vessels, two themes can be chosen inside, and both evoke a sense of sophistication, while remaining minimal. As a luxury motoryacht, the designers have wisely left room for owners to express themselves in here.
Specifications
LOA : 22.3 m / 73′ 2″
Beam : 5.6 m / 18′ 4″
Laden displacement : 54,000kg
Fuel : 4600 l
Water : 1050 l
People on board : 18
Engine : 2 options
Max speed : 28 kn (on most powerful engine)
Cruise speed : 24 kn (on most powerful engine)
Ferretti Yachts 670
The Ferretti Yachts 670 is an important vessel to the yard, because this was the first yacht designed by Filippo Salvetti, and the designer has since worked on every new yacht from Ferretti Yachts. As the yacht that charts a new direction for coming vessels, many new technologies, often seen on the newer Ferrettis, were seen here first.
An example of this is the active electro-hydraulic steering, which will move her rudders independently to keep to course without the need of an autopilot, and the steering wheel will self-center as well.
Inside, the main deck is split into two levels, with the salon situated down and aft, while the dinette and galley are higher forward. Forwards is more than just a standard sun deck – here are multiple sofas, a sunshade, and sunpads that convert into tables.
Specifications
LOA : 20.24 m / 66′ 5″
Beam : 5.38 m / 17′ 8″
Laden displacement : 47,500 kg
Fuel : 3800 l
Water : 1000 l
People on board : 18
Engine : 4 options
Max speed : 28 kn (on most powerful engine)
Cruise speed : 25 kn (on most powerful engine)
Ferretti Yachts 550
Ferretti’s midsized duo – the FY550 and the FY500 below – are quintessential cruisers. This means that they are comfortable and stately in the way they perform, instead of being startlingly quick and responsive. This is the preferred character for a flybridge yacht, of course, and the Ferretti Yachts 550 is exactly like that.
Coupled with an optional Seakeeper gyrostabiliser, Ferretti-first-timers will begin to understand just why boaters across the world love yachts from the shipyard.
Though she’s one of the smallest vessels from the yard, the interior is surprisingly spacious. There’s more than enough headroom in all rooms below, and just like her larger siblings, the sense of spaciousness in the main saloon is accentuated by the many windows that usher in natural light.
Specifications
LOA : 17.42 m / 57′ 2″
Beam : 4.82 m / 15′ 10″
Laden displacement : 30,100 kg
Fuel : 2500 l
Water : 680 l
People on board : 14
Engine : 2 options
Max speed : 30 kn (on most powerful engine)
Cruise speed : 25 kn (on most powerful engine)
Ferretti Yachts 500
We arrive at the smallest, but certainly not the least, of Ferretti Yachts’s offerings. The Ferretti Yachts 500 is also another relatively new vessel to the fleet, and just like every yacht mentioned above, her beauty is not in complication, but in the lack of visual clutter.
‘Big yacht ideas’ were incorporated into the FY500 very well. There are three staterooms, and two heads in the hull. The master stateroom spans the breadth of the beam, with a generous headroom (6 feet 6 inches). Another great feature that maximises utility and still looks great is the cockpit sofa that can double as a full-width sunbed as well.
The list of standard features also includes a bimini for the flybridge and a hydraulic swim platform. Just like the other new vessels from Ferretti Yachts, the FY500 also has the options for two different interior themes, as well as an optional two-cabin layout, and a small single crew cabin at the stern. The last one is unsurprisingly rarely optioned, as a vessel of this size (15.33 metres or 50’4”) is usually fully owner-operated.
Specifications
LOA : 15.33 m / 50′ 4″
Beam : 4.33 m / 14′ 2″
Laden displacement : 22,000 kg
Fuel : 1350 l
Water : 600 l
People on board : 12
Engine : 2options
Max speed : 30 kn (on most powerful engine)
Cruise speed : 25 kn (on most powerful engine)
Let’s conclude
Ferretti Yachts currently boasts 8 vessels in its fleet, each at a different size to fit the diverse needs and wants of pleasure boaters. Every model is a rich mix of comfort, safety, design, innovation, and superb construction. What’s more, the shipyard is known to have quality after-sales service as well, which further strengthens the proposition of the brand and gives owners so much confidence in them. That’s why Ferretti Yachts says that almost 90% of buyers have previously owned a Ferretti.
