These boats are some of the best ones that have come out recently, and you must check them out

The latter months of 2021 introduced a fleet of great models in the highly popular cabin cruiser segment. It’s going to be tough to pick one out for yourself and the family due to the array of talent available, but boat-shopping is always fun isn’t it? More options for boaters means competition, and this will ultimately benefit boaters as shipyards have to create ever better boats. Let’s have a look at the playing field.

Jeanneau NC 37

Let’s start with one of the best boats new boaters can buy. The Jeanneau NC 37 looks modern and stylish, with huge windows all around the cabin for a panoramic view, and if that’s not enough natural light, the yacht also has a sunroof to let in more illumination.

True to Jeanneau’s norm, the NC 37 comes with a lot of space. The owner’s cabin and guest cabin both have comfortable headroom, and the interior is nicely appointed to be easy on the eyes. However, it is a beginner yacht, so the interior feels more utilitarian than outright luxurious.

Beneteau Gran Turismo 41

The highly acclaimed Beneteau Gran Turismo 40 is being replaced by the Beneteau Gran Turismo 41 in 2022, and expectations are high. The shipyard says that the new model will not stray far from the predecessor, thankfully.

The foredeck sunpad has been tweaked to have reclining backrests, courtesy lighting and a retractable canopy, while the aft sunpad has an increased height for more comfort. The hard top has also been redesigned with a larger sunroof and slimmer supports. More interestingly is the unique Airstep hull, which will direct air under the boat to decrease hydrodynamic friction.

Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Outboard

Sea Rays are known for their inboard propulsion systems, but times are changing and the new Sundancer has triple Mercury outboards good for 300 hp each. What’s more, this yacht is actually a hybrid of a cabin cruiser and a bowrider as you can see from the bow lounge with its full seating and dinette.

There are fantastic viewing angles from its large cockpit windows, and belowdecks are a galley to port, a head to starboard, a mid-cabin berth that converts to a settee, and a V-berth that is also convertible into a saloon. For a craft of this size, having such flexible features is great.

Back Cove 372

The Back Cove 372 is the 2022 update to the popular 37 cruiser, in the same appealing downeast-style cruiser. This design is really pleasing to us, but it is not  something boaters see this side of the Pacific Ocean and is much more popular in the Americas.

Under the svelte skin is a pair of sumptuously-appointed cabins, and the head is also reconfigured for more space. The helm and interior seating has also been redesigned for better ergonomics, and finally, moving the yacht is a Cummins diesel with 600 hp.

Galeon 410 HTC

Galeon’s 410 HTC is the sportier coupe sibling of the popular Galeon 40 Flybridge. The best feature about the yacht is its beach platform – it’s like a swimming platform but BIGGER. The entire gunwale can fold down electronically to the level of the water, enlarging this entire area for an experience that is usually not found in a 40-footer.

The layout below is also quite special. 2 cabins are available with not 1, but 2 heads to maximise privacy. This is perfect, especially if there are 2 couples on board.

Regal 38 FXO

This stunning new cruiser from Regal is an all-new vessel. The Regal 38 FXO is styled like an express cruiser with outboard power, with fantastic all-around view thanks to the large cabin windows. For an even more ‘elevated’ helming experience, boaters can head up to the flying bridge.

Standard on the 38 FXO are triple Yahama outboards good for 300 hp each. For overnight accommodations, the aft stateroom is fitted with a king-sized bed with walkaround space, and the forward stateroom is outfitted with a California Queen bed.

Beneteau Antares 9

A second entrant from French builder Beneteau, the Antares 9 also features the innovative Airstep hull that is a perfect companion to the twin 200 hp Mercury outboards. What’s more, the yard understands that boaters like ease of use. There are simple ideas here like a sliding cockpit seat that frees up deck space and also move out of the way to tilt the outboards out of the water. It’s a small cruiser, sure, but with loads of functionality packed in.

However, as it is a more basic (if ever a yacht is basic) vessel, many features are optional extras, like the cockpit sun pad, and the double bed cushion in the salon.

Conclusion

The sleek and sporty design of cabin cruises appeals to both seasoned enthusiasts and new boaters alike. They do everything well, from coastal cruising to watersports, and as you have already read, they all have overnight accommodations too for added practicality.
